Queerty is dead (maybe). Can gay blogs stay afloat?
But wait: not so fast. On April 25th, Queerty announced that the site is "coming back." "You heard right, after a few weeks of downtime, Queerty will soon return as the one place you need to turn each day," read a blog post on the site. The owners of Queerty, 353Media, who were blamed by creator David Hauslaib for shuttering the site after "technical difficulties," aren’t talking about the hiccup in coverage - yet. But has this controversial website actually resolved its difficulties? Or is the hand-wringing over the ability of gay blogs to prosper just beginning?
Some Marines wary of lifting military’s ban on openly gay troops
Most of those serving in America’s armed forces have no strong objections to repealing the "don’t ask, don’t tell" law, according to a Pentagon survey of 400,000 active duty and reservists that is scheduled for release Tuesday.
But the survey found resistance to repealing the ban strongest among the Marines, according to the Washington Post. It’s an attitude apparently shared by their top leader, Commandant Gen. James Amos, who has said that the government should not lift the ban in
Scott Herman - The MEGA Post
Thank you Scott for taking this time to share your story and personally speaking I am pleased that we have a straight ally in you!
I am beyond excited to share this breaking 2 part interview with Scott Herman (of Real World fame, model, personal trainer, actor, and business owner). Scott was kind enough to not only answer my interview questions but took the time to answer them on the videos below.
Through the process I was so impressed to see how this young man (24 years old) has made one of his missions to be an outspoken GLBT ally. Although the questions I asked are being read by someone else, I have spoken with Scott several times and he is sincere and passionate about his convictions and support

The Gay Rumors About Matthew Morrison
Matthew Morrison says he's been dealing with gay rumors for as long as he can remember, but just because he's a song-and-dance man who isn't afraid to show his sensitive side doesn't mean he likes men.
Man charged in suspicious exams on teen athletes
"A former stadium manager for the Highline School District was charged Monday with forgery and four counts of practicing medicine without a license for allegedly performing physical exams and administering injections he wasn't qualified to do.
Jayson W. Boehm was dismissed by the school district last spring, and the state Department of Health issued an emergency suspension of his health-care-provider license a month later, accusing Boehm of performing physical exams on 26 male students, asking them to strip and touching their genitals. In addition to stadium manager, he performed the duties of an athletic trainer.
In March, an adult boxer who trains and competes with the White Center Police Athletic League suffered a bloody nose in a bout; he was sent to Boehm before and after his match and told investigators that both times, Boehm had the boxer lower his shorts and "Boehm checked his penis and testicles," charging papers say.
Though the boxer hadn't received any below-the-belt hits, Boehm swabbed the man's penis for blood, the papers say.
A student football player, who suffered a concussion in a 2009 game, was told by his coach to see Boehm before returning to practice, charging papers say. The player said "the exam consisted of Boehm telling him to lower his pants and underwear, then Boehm examined his testicles," the papers say.
Boehm "did not examine any other parts of his body," and a few days later Boehm again examined the boy's testicles, according to charging documents."

A senior Cambodian military officer has hammered out a ceasefire with Thai troops at Ta Muen Thom temple in Phanom Dong Rak district of Surin province.
Col Neak Vong, deputy commander of Cambodia's 402nd Brigade, contacted Col Adul Boonthamcharoen, commander of the 26th Pararanger Military Regiment around 4 pm to seek a ceasefire at the temple ruins of Ta Muen Thom.
After the meeting, both sides agreed to stop fighting and Cambodian troops agreed to move away from an area near the temple ruins.
A Thai army source said Col Neak Vong gave as his reasons for the ceasefire the fact that he wanted to collect several bodies of Cambodian troops killed in gunfire exchanges with Thai troops during the past 10 days, from a forest opposite the temple.
The bodies have begun rotting and giving off a bad odour.
He also told the Thai side that the morale of Cambodian troops has been shaken following the deaths of their fellow soldiers and a shortage of food and weapons, added the source.

The Khmer version of Who Killed Chea Vichea? was screened for the first time in Cambodia on Labor Day, May 1, 2011.
It was the first time ever this documentary film was shown in full, without disruption, without threat from the government. It was shown at the headquarters of the Sam Rainsy Party. Chea Vichea was a founder of the party and led many strikes with Mr. Sam Rainsy, the president of the party.
Workers came on their own, students rode their bikes and cut classes, moto taxi drivers and party supporters joined the audience. It was widely attended by local and international media in Cambodia.
The Cambodian version is very powerful as there are moments and situations that are best understood in Cambodian language.
There were tears, shock and anger.
Tears as we miss Chea Vichea.
Shock as he was lying in a pool of blood.
Anger as we know the truth but no action has been taken.
The power of the film will make it impossible for the public to see it in a public space, unless there is a change of leadership in Cambodia.
The truth must be told. We will continue to tell it through this very powerful film. We urge you all to take the film to each and every group you know. For justice.

Yes, Those Are Nice Cheekbones.

Michael Pöllinger is an eighteen-year-old model from Austria who tells the folks over at F Tape that his best feature is his cheekbones. Well, they may not be his best feature, but I think they are pretty darn nice (and I'm always right about these things).
